On these pages you can find information regarding my trip to Aconcagua. As well, I can provide links and information about the mountain and surroundings. As well, I offer organisation and leadership for mountain expeditions on Aconcagua. More on equipment lists, logistics and costs can be found under Information on Aconcagua.
My mission is to provide the safest experience with as much transfer of knowledge possible during the time together. Reaching the summit, while very important, is only half the distance of the planned expedition. It is your leader‘s responsibility to return you to the airport uninjured. I am very interested in providing both a learning experience as well as one of the greatest adventures you will remember.
Organization of a trip to Argentina can be a time consuming and frustrating experience. Trust is probably the most important factor in ensuring an enjoyable, safe time while engaging in eco tourism in Argentina. It is my goal to reduce this to a minimum for my clients. I have researched all of the different expedition companies when I first went to Aconcagua five years ago, so I can personally associate myself with all the concerns that people have when undertaking such adventures. I recommend that you contact me directly per email or phone when you have interest in Aconcagua, Patagonia, Hunting & Fishing in Argentina. I will
have answers to most of the questions you may have, and if I do not have an answer, I will find out asap. I can recommend equipment, methods of preparation, arrange / suggest flight routes, and suggest mountain routes. This is all based on my personal experiences on Aconcagua and 7 years of high altitude climbing experience. Aconcagua is a three-week trek to the summit of the highest mountain outside of Asia. It is the highest peak on the continent of South America. It is therefore strenuous and cold and though an deemed „easy“ 7000 meter mountain, it is not for everyone to attempt. You will experience extreme winds, cold and risk Acute Mountain Sickness, Pulmonary & Cerebral Edema if you do not follow a proper Acclimitization Plan.
On Expedition Companies in Argentina
An adventure traveler can find all variations of expedition companies. The are the international giants and the local guys trying to earn a salary. My goal is to provide the right value for money mix which most westerners appreciate. My company is not an international giant (I do not want to be either)- I do not price expeditions at ridiculous rates. I do however wish to mimic the style (I was once a client). I am not a local either, but do have the resources to provide you the local expertise and knowledge to ensure a safe and information-rich expedition.
Routes Offered
The most requested routes are Normal Route, False Polish, Polish and Guanacos. The polish glacier requires a good knowledge of glacier travel, ice climbing, roped travel, placement of protection etc etc. I therefore advise all climbers to be ready to answer many more questions about their climbing background. I will provide your expedition a set of maps which include a topographical map and a naturalist‘s map for Aconcagua.
Time of Year to Climb
The best times of the year to climb Aconcagua are December and January, though November, February and March are also quite good. I personally climbed in December and January as the weather was mild. It was however cold up high.
Prices
The cost of the expedition is $3200 per person from Mendoza. This covers all costs except alcohol and the park entry fees from Mendoza.
